Classic: ‘La Femme de ma patron’ – Daouda Tou Koné

Tou Kone Daouda

When Daouda Tou Koné started working as a TV technician in Abidjan, nobody could realize his composition and singing talents because people overheard his guitar playing and singing in the studio. After he was discovered his first releases became successes and he eventually became one of the most popular soukous artists in the 1980’s. The song ‘La Femme de mon Patron‘ was produced in 1984, during the peak of this career. The song, which is makossa influenced, shows a very typical element of his music: Humourous lyrics. In this song he laments being loved by the wife of his boss, which he regards as a dilemma.
